Each kWh charged generates 0.333 Emission Reduction Units (NEa 2026). Stekker registers, trades, and pays out 85% of the proceeds.

What is the Dutch ERE scheme?
ERE stands for emissiereductie-eenheid, an emission reduction unit. These units, CO₂ certificates, are tradeable on the market. Stekker is allowed to collect the ERE’s for customers who have signed up, sells them on the market, and pays the proceeds out to the accounts that did the charging.
It is not a subsidy. You receive no government money; you earn units that Stekker sells on your behalf to fuel suppliers who are legally required to cut their CO₂. They pay for the kilos you avoid at home.
Every kWh you charge into your car at home earns 0.33269 ERE, the rate the NEa set for 2026. Gross, that works out to about 16 cents per kWh charged.

Price per ERE
A commission percentage says little without the price it applies to. Most providers do not publish that price. We do, per sale, with date and volume.
