From which date charging sessions count for ERE

Charging consumption qualifies for ERE from 1 January 2026. That also applies to charging sessions from before you signed up.

Sessions from before you signed up

A charging session from before you signed up counts if:

  • the session falls after 1 January 2026
  • the session was measured with a MID meter
  • the session data is complete and traceable

Charging from before 2026 does not count.

If you connect a charger that supplies its charging history, Stekker retrieves the sessions from 1 January of the current year.

Without a MID meter a session does not count

Registration is only possible on the basis of a measurement the NEa accepts, and that is a MID meter. This also applies retroactively: sessions your charger measured without a MID meter do not count, not even if you later get a charger with a MID meter.

It makes no difference how you kept track of the consumption. A record in the manufacturer’s app, in a home automation system or in your own export does not turn a session without a MID meter into one that counts.

Stekker accepts manually delivered session data only after assessment, and in principle only for chargers that are or have been connected to Stekker.

Have a separate MID meter in the meter cupboard? See Can I earn EREs with a separate MID meter?
