You’re never locked in with Stekker
One of the principles of our proposition: signing up commits you to nothing. You can stop at any time. Here’s exactly how it works.
What does “cancelling” mean with Stekker?
Two things happen in parallel:
- Revoking the Stekker authorization. You can do this yourself at any time.
- Ending the NEa contract. This always runs until December 31 of the calendar year. Stekker handles this for you.
How do I revoke the authorization?
Two options:
- In the Stekker app under Settings → Stekker authorization → Revoke. One click, processed immediately.
- Or email [email protected] from the email address used for signup. Subject: “Revoke authorization”.
You receive confirmation within one business day.
What happens next?
After revoking, Stekker stops requesting new ERE credits for your address. Your current NEa registration continues until December 31 of the current calendar year. Two consequences:
- Current quarter revenue is still paid out. If you charged green kWh between January 1 and the moment you revoked, you still receive that payout on the normal payout date.
- No new signup possible within the same year. Because the NEa registration runs through year-end, you can only re-enrol with us or another provider starting January 1 of the next year.
What about ERE credits I earned but haven’t been paid yet?
They are paid out on the next quarterly payout date after NEa processing. Revoking doesn’t affect already-submitted requests — those were registered with the NEa before you clicked revoke.
Want to pause instead?
Stekker doesn’t have a separate “pause” option. If you want to come back later, you sign up again — which can only happen starting January 1 of the next year.
Want to temporarily not charge? You don’t need to do anything. No green kWh charged means no ERE credits to apply for.
