How long until my first payout?

Stekker pays out ERE rewards per quarter. After signing up it usually takes 3 to 4 months until your first deposit arrives — depending on when in the quarter you signed up and how much you charge.

How does the timing work?

The ERE year runs from January 1 to December 31. From the moment your charger is connected to Stekker, we register every kWh you charge. Those kWh are submitted to the Dutch Emissions Authority (NEa) — grouped per quarter.

After a quarter closes:

  1. Stekker bundles all ERE’s from all customers and trades them on the market
  2. The proceeds are distributed across all registered customers in proportion to charged kWh
  3. We deduct 18% commission (or 23% if smart charging is active)
  4. The net amount arrives on your IBAN — usually 4-6 weeks after the quarter ends

Example timing

Sign-up date 1st charging session registered First payout
January February May (Q1 payout)
April May August (Q2 payout)
July August November (Q3 payout)
October November February next year (Q4 payout)

Why quarterly and not monthly?

The ERE market works in cycles of ~3 months for trading and clearing. Daily or monthly payouts would make transaction costs so high that less would be left for you. With quarterly batches we trade for all customers together at competitive rates and capture the best market price at the right moment.

Possibly more frequent from 2027

From 2027 we’ll explore monthly payouts, market maturity permitting. For 2026 and early customers, quarterly payouts are the standard.

How do I see my proceeds?

On your dashboard you see per quarter the gross ERE proceeds, the Stekker commission and the net amount going to your IBAN. With every payout you also get a mail summary. Read how to track your earnings.
