What Stekker does at a business location
An ERE reward on the power you already charge
Every kWh that goes into an electric car is worth a tradable certificate. Stekker registers those kilowatt-hours with the Dutch Emissions Authority on your behalf, sells the ERE’s and transfers the proceeds. Nothing has to change about your charge points or your charge cards.
More charge points on the same connection
The Stekker EMS divides the available power across every session at your location, within the limit you agreed with the grid operator. Solar production, dynamic prices, departure times and priority per charge card all go into the same plan. Expanding then does not have to start with a heavier connection.

Step 01
Fill in the authorisation
You fill in the ERE form and pick Business under “Who are you?”. That asks for your company name and Chamber of Commerce number, plus the EAN code of the connection and the account we pay out to. An owners’ association signs up as a business too.

Connect the charge points
We read the charging sessions through your charger, your CPO or your management system. There are 99 brands, 380 models and 112 CPOs connected, so most of the time the integration already exists.

Register and pay out
Stekker registers the sessions with the Dutch Emissions Authority, trades the ERE’s and pays the proceeds into your own account. The portal shows which sessions were registered and what they earned.
How we calculate
One charged kWh yields 0.33269 ERE, the NEa calculation method for delivery year 2026. Our last sale went for €0.482 per ERE. That is €0.160 gross per charged kilowatt-hour, and €0.136 net after our 15% commission. The charging period counts from 1 January 2026. A business location uses the same calculation as a home charger, it just involves more kilowatt-hours.

Stekker at a business location
Can a business claim ERE’s?
Yes. In the sign-up form you pick Business under “Who are you?”, and the form then asks for your company name and Chamber of Commerce number instead of only your personal details. The rest of the route is identical to a private charger: authorisation, connect the charge points, register, pay out. Signing up on behalf of an owners’ association? Pick Business there too and fill in the association’s details.
What is an ERE?
An Emission Reduction Unit is a tradable certificate the Dutch Emissions Authority issues for power that goes into an electric car instead of into a tank of fossil fuel. Fuel suppliers are legally required to buy them. One kWh is worth 0.33269 ERE under the NEa calculation method for 2026.
Does Stekker work with our existing chargers and CPO?
Usually. Stekker is a control layer above the charger or the CPO software and connects over OCPP, OCPI, a cloud-to-cloud API or Modbus. There are 99 charger brands, 380 models and 112 CPOs connected. If your combination is not there yet, ask us, because a new integration is more often possible than not.
Can we expand without upgrading the connection?
That is what the EMS is for. The engine divides the available power across all sessions and keeps the total under your contracted grid capacity. Cars that stay longer charge more slowly, cars that leave sooner get priority. How much room that frees up depends on your connection, your charge points and the departure times at your location, so we work it out on your own data.
What happens during a congestion call from the grid operator?
Stekker receives and answers grid operator signals and works them into the next plan. Charging power at your location then drops temporarily, spread across the sessions with the most room. The engine supports OpenADR and GOPACS-compatible congestion services, among others.
Can we offer this under our own name?
Yes, that is Embedded: the Stekker Engine behind your brand and your interface, through APIs and bespoke integrations. Energy suppliers, CPOs and platforms use that route to offer smart charging to their own customers.
What does it cost?
Signing up for ERE’s is free. We keep 15% commission on the proceeds of your ERE’s, so you only pay once something has actually been sold. For an EMS setup at a location the price depends on the number of charge points and the integrations it needs. Request a demo and we will work it out.
