How to Connect E-Flux with Stekker

E-Flux by Road is one of Stekker's key CPO partners. Learn how the integration works and how to get started with smart charging through E-Flux.

E-Flux by Road is one of Stekker’s most important integration partners. As a Charge Point Operator (CPO), E-Flux manages the communication layer between charging stations and the Stekker smart charging platform. Through this partnership, individual users can connect their E-Flux charge points to the Stekker app and start smart charging right away.

An average user can achieve savings on charging costs and COâ‚‚ emissions of over 30%.

How do Stekker and E-Flux work together?

Stekker analyzes your vehicle, charging point, power connection, solar panels, and energy market conditions to determine the optimal charging times. E-Flux by Road provides the integration that lets Stekker communicate with your charge point. Stekker functions as a smart plug-in for your charging station — it takes local requirements, installation limits, and your preferences into account.

This cloud-based approach means no changes to your existing hardware are required. If your charge point is already managed by E-Flux, Stekker can start optimizing immediately.

Connect the Stekker App to E-Flux

Individual users can try smart charging for free using the Stekker app. Follow these steps to pair your E-Flux charge point with Stekker:

Step 1: Log into your Mijn E-Flux dashboard

Once logged in, navigate to Pairing. You can find this option in the menu under Smart Charging, or go directly to dashboard.e-flux.nl/smart-charging/pairing.

Step 7: Start charging!

Plug in your vehicle and you’ll receive a notification from Stekker when a charging session starts. Set your desired departure time in the app so Stekker can calculate the optimal charging windows for cost and sustainability.

What Stekker optimizes

Once connected through E-Flux, Stekker takes over charge scheduling and can:

  • Charge when electricity is cheapest — the greatest savings come with dynamic energy contracts featuring hourly rates
  • Maximize self-consumption of locally generated solar energy
  • Stay within your contracted transport capacity (peak shaving)
  • Balance load across multiple charge points simultaneously

It works for every vehicle because Stekker communicates with your charge point via E-Flux, not with your car.

Getting started for businesses

For locations with multiple charge points, solar panels, batteries, or complex grid connections, Stekker offers a full Energy Management System (EMS). Stekker can deploy an Edge module at your location that connects to your energy meters and provides real-time data on generation, consumption, and grid conditions.

Get in touch with our team to discuss your situation. Cloud-based setups typically take one to two weeks. If an Edge module is needed, installation takes two to four weeks.
