Planetpod is building its own home battery storage solution and partnered with Stekker to follow day ahead markets and solar forecasting. Planetpod created the hardware, the software and the algorithms for their own battery, but wanted a sure solution for charging predictions.
Stekker helped with their “solar mode” and “cash mode” integrations, used to optimize charging for a certain goal. This means the battery can store excess solar energy during the day and release it for EV charging in the evening — or shift consumption to moments when energy is cheapest.
Also, for Planetpod customers, this integration means their home battery and charge point are no longer separate devices competing for the same grid connection.
