What is MID certification?<\/h2>\n

MID stands for Measuring Instruments Directive<\/em>, a European regulation that ensures measuring instruments are accurate and reliable. For EV chargers, MID certification means the built-in kWh meter is officially calibrated and the measured values are legally usable.<\/p>\n

For ERE participation, this is mandatory: the NEa only accepts measurements from MID-certified meters. Without MID certification, we cannot request ERE credits for your charging sessions.<\/p>\n

How do I check if my charger is MID-certified?<\/h2>\n

Three ways:<\/p>\n

  1. Type plate on the charger.<\/strong> Often there’s a MID logo or a conformity declaration. Look near the connector or in the manual.<\/li>\n
  2. Manual or spec sheet.<\/strong> The technical specifications mention whether the built-in kWh meter is MID-certified. Search for “MID” or “EN 50470”.<\/li>\n
  3. Manufacturer page.<\/strong> Manufacturers often mention MID in product descriptions, especially for commercial models.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Which brands support MID?<\/h2>\n

    Most commercial and semi-public chargers ship with MID certification by default. For residential chargers it varies by model and version:<\/p>\n
